Vial Reconstitution, Storage & Handling Guide

Scan. Reconstitute. Refrigerate. Follow Your Protocol.

You reached this page by scanning the QR code on your PROPeptides vial.

Each PROPeptides order is prepared according to the peptide, vial strength, and protocol ordered for you. Your peptide vial is supplied with the appropriate amount of sterile diluent needed to reconstitute that vial.

The entire vial of diluent provided should be added to the corresponding peptide vial.

Your peptide vial, supplied diluent, and dosing protocol are designed to work together. After reconstitution, follow the dosing instructions provided with your protocol.

WHAT COMES WITH YOUR PEPTIDE?

Your PROPeptides order includes:

  • Your ordered peptide vial(s)

  • The appropriate amount of bacteriostatic water or other prescribed sterile diluent for each vial

  • Your dosing protocol

  • Peptide-specific educational information

  • QR-code access to these reconstitution, storage, and handling instructions

The peptide strength and supplied diluent should be consistent with what you ordered and what is listed on your protocol.

If anything appears different from your order or protocol, contact PROPeptides before using the product.

BEFORE RECONSTITUTION

Your peptide arrives as a lyophilized, or freeze-dried, powder. Adding the supplied diluent converts it into the liquid form used for your protocol.

Before beginning:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

  2. Work on a clean, dry, well-lit surface.

  3. Confirm the peptide name and vial strength.

  4. Confirm that the vial matches your order and protocol.

  5. Inspect the peptide and diluent vials for damage.

  6. Remove the protective caps.

  7. Clean both rubber stoppers with new alcohol swabs.

  8. Allow the alcohol to completely air-dry.

  9. Use a new sterile syringe and needle for reconstitution.

Never reuse needles or syringes.

HOW TO RECONSTITUTE YOUR PEPTIDE

Reconstitution is designed to be straightforward.

Step 1 — Draw the Supplied Diluent

Using a new sterile syringe and needle, draw the entire amount of diluent supplied for that peptide vial.

The supplied diluent has been matched to the peptide vial and concentration used in your protocol.

Step 2 — Add the Entire Amount to the Peptide Vial

Insert the needle through the rubber stopper of the peptide vial.

Slowly inject the diluent against the inside wall of the vial, allowing the liquid to gently run down the side and mix with the lyophilized peptide.

Avoid forcefully spraying the liquid directly onto the powder.

Step 3 — Use All of the Supplied Diluent

The entire amount of diluent provided should be transferred into the corresponding peptide vial.

There should not be leftover diluent after reconstitution.

Step 4 — Mix Gently

Remove the needle and syringe and dispose of them appropriately.

Gently roll or slowly swirl the peptide vial until the powder has dissolved.

DO NOT SHAKE VIGOROUSLY.

Most peptides dissolve relatively quickly. Some may take several minutes to fully dissolve.

Gentle movement is sufficient.

AFTER RECONSTITUTION

Once the peptide has dissolved, visually inspect the vial.

The solution should generally appear consistent with the expected appearance of your product.

If anything does not look right after reconstitution — including unexpected particles, unusual cloudiness, discoloration, damage, or anything else that concerns you:

Take a clear picture of the vial and immediately text it to:

The PROPeptides team can review the vial and provide additional guidance.

REFRIGERATE AFTER RECONSTITUTION

After reconstitution, place the peptide into the refrigerator.

Recommended Storage

2–8°C (36–46°F)

For routine storage:

  • Keep the vial refrigerated.

  • Keep it upright when possible.

  • Keep it away from the refrigerator door when practical.

  • Protect it from direct light.

  • Avoid placing it directly against a freezer compartment or cooling element.

  • Remove it only as needed to prepare your dose.

  • Return it to the refrigerator after use.

Do not intentionally freeze your peptide.

Normal brief handling while preparing a dose is expected. Simply return the vial to the refrigerator after you are finished.

RECOMMENDED 45-DAY USE PERIOD

For best consistency and expected peptide activity, we generally recommend using a reconstituted peptide within approximately:

45 DAYS

This is primarily a quality and potency recommendation.

Peptides are biological molecules that can gradually degrade over time after reconstitution. As a vial gets older, the peptide may gradually lose activity and may not provide the same expected effectiveness as a freshly reconstituted vial.

This does not mean that a vial suddenly becomes ineffective on day 46.

Rather, approximately 45 days is the suggested timeframe for maintaining the expected quality and effectiveness of the reconstituted product when it has been properly refrigerated and handled.

For best results:

  • Write down the date you reconstituted the vial.

  • Keep it consistently refrigerated.

  • Handle it appropriately with each use.

  • Plan to complete the vial within approximately 45 days whenever possible.

If your prescription or peptide-specific instructions provide a different timeframe, follow those instructions.

USING YOUR PEPTIDE FOR EACH DOSE

Each time you use your peptide:

  1. Wash and dry your hands.

  2. Remove the correct vial from the refrigerator.

  3. Confirm the peptide and prescribed dose on your protocol.

  4. Look at the solution to make sure it appears normal.

  5. Clean the rubber stopper with a new alcohol swab.

  6. Allow it to air-dry.

  7. Use a new sterile syringe and needle.

  8. Draw the amount specified on your protocol.

  9. Administer according to your prescribed instructions.

  10. Dispose of the used needle and syringe appropriately.

  11. Return the peptide vial to the refrigerator.

Never share peptide vials, needles, syringes, or injection supplies with another person.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR DOSE

Your vial has been prepared so that the:

Peptide strength + supplied diluent + dosing protocol

work together.

The vial you receive should match the vial strength listed on your order and protocol, and the supplied diluent is intended to establish the concentration used by your dosing instructions.

Insulin Syringe “Units”

The numbers or units on an insulin syringe represent the volume being drawn.

Your protocol converts that volume into the appropriate peptide dose based on the concentration created during reconstitution.

For this reason:

Follow the number of units listed on your specific PROPeptides protocol.

Do not change the amount of diluent added to the vial, as this would change the concentration and make the dosing instructions inaccurate.

Contact PROPeptides before administering your peptide if:

  • Your vial does not match your protocol.

  • You are unsure how many units to administer.

  • Your syringe looks different from what you normally use.

  • You accidentally spilled some of the diluent.

  • You were unable to transfer all of the supplied diluent.

  • Medication leaked during preparation.

  • You believe you may have measured a dose incorrectly.

Do not administer an additional dose to compensate for a possible dosing error unless instructed by your healthcare professional.

TRAVELING WITH YOUR PEPTIDES

Traveling with a reconstituted peptide is generally simple. The goal is to keep the peptide cold while preventing the vial from being damaged or sitting directly against ice for an extended period.

Simple Travel Method

A small insulated lunch box or insulated water bottle works well for most travel.

  1. Place the peptide vial inside a sealed Ziploc-style bag.

  2. Place the sealed bag inside an insulated lunch box or sufficiently large insulated water bottle.

  3. Add an ice pack or ice to keep the inside of the container cold.

  4. Keep the peptide vial sealed inside the bag so it remains dry and protected.

  5. Keep the container closed as much as possible during travel.

  6. Refrigerate the peptide again when you reach your destination.

The bag also helps protect the vial and label from condensation or water created by melting ice.

For air travel, keep your medication with you rather than placing temperature-sensitive medication in checked luggage whenever possible.

Carry your prescription information when appropriate.

IF YOUR PEPTIDE GETS WARM

A short period outside the refrigerator while preparing a dose or traveling does not automatically mean the peptide needs to be discarded.

If the vial has been exposed to significant heat, left unrefrigerated for an extended period, or you are unsure whether it is still appropriate to use:

Text PROPeptides at 480-400-6225.

Include:

  • The name of the peptide

  • Approximately how long it was unrefrigerated

  • The approximate temperature or conditions

  • A picture of the vial if helpful

We can help determine the appropriate next step.

DISPOSAL

Used needles and syringes should be placed into an appropriate sharps disposal container immediately after use.

Do not:

  • Reuse needles

  • Reuse syringes

  • Share injection equipment

  • Leave needles inserted into peptide vials

  • Place loose needles directly into household trash or recycling

Discard an empty peptide vial after completing the prescribed protocol according to applicable local disposal requirements.

WHEN TO CONTACT YOUR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER

Contact your healthcare provider if you develop persistent or worsening:

  • Injection-site redness

  • Swelling

  • Warmth

  • Pain

  • Drainage

  • Rash

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Unexpected medication effects

Seek urgent medical attention for significant symptoms such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, fainting, chest pain, severe abdominal pain, confusion, or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.
